On January 13-14, 2011 the CDIO Region of the Americas Meeting will be held in Santiago de Chile. Participation is open to everyone interested, and it is an excellent opportunity for all engineering schools in Chile and in the region to learn about the CDIO approach directly from the leaders of this initiative, and also to share the experiences of the schools that are already applying these methods to improve their curricula and their teaching and learning methods. This meeting is being organized jointly with the 2011 Workshop on Active Learning in Engineering Education (ALE2011), which will be held on January 10-12.

The CDIO Initiative (www.cdio.org) is the leading collaboration in the world to improve the teaching and learning of engineering. It originated in the Department of Aeronautics and Astronautics of MIT in the US, and it was developed with the participation of academics, engineers, students and industry. It is universally adaptable for all schools of engineering, and it is being adopted by a growing number of schools worldwide, with more than forty universities formally participating of its development and outreach.

The conference will be in English, with English-Spanish interpretation for the sessions of the first day.
